Terrible support and repair process. Will never buy from them again.
I ordered a brand new Apple Studio Display (VESA) and I received it fairly quickly. The monitor dies after 5 days, this is when things start to get ugly.
First, they refused to replace the display even though it died within 14 days of purchase (which is what Apple confirmed to me they would have done if bought directly from them, no questions asked).
Second, they asked me to ship it back to Germany for repair (they did provide a return label). The whole repair process took 6 weeks.
Third, after inspection of the "repaired" monitor, I noticed that the glass panel is misaligned with respect to the aluminum body (by almost 1mm on some sides). They stated that the repair was done by their dedicated Apple repair team. They clearly did a terrible job which to me cannot have been done by properly trained and certified Apple repair staff.
I now asked to ship it back and requested a full refund, but I sincerely doubt they will honor the request.
Overall terrible experience, it is impossible to talk to their service team, phone is busy throughout the day and calls get automatically disconnected.
I sincerely regret buying from Alternate and will never purchase anything from them again, it was not worth saving CHF100 on that display. I am now stuck with a badly repaired CHF 1400 monitor which lasted only 5 days when initially bought.
